The Ohio Pawpaw Festival, a fun, educational event, celebrates one of America's biggest native tree fruits: the pawpaw. The Ohio Pawpaw Festival is a fun-filled, educational community event that celebrates one of America's largest native tree fruits, the pawpaw (Asimina triloba). It features delicious food and beverages as well as dozens of activities and presentations on pawpaw growing and cooking, genetics, medicinal use, and other sustainability-related topics. The festival will feature a variety of special events, including competitions for best and largest pawpaws, a pawpaw cooking contest, the best pawpaw related work of art, and the popular pawpaw eating contest.

Asimina triloba is the largest native edible tree fruit in North America. The fruit is creamy and tropical in flavor.

The Ohio Pawpaw Festival, in partnership with Rural Action for many years, has taken recycling and composting to a new level. This year they are aiming to send zero waste to landfills! That's right -- nada, zip, zero. You've got to work hard to reach this goal. You can dispose of your waste at the recycling stations that are located all over the festival. Our native tree fruits will soon be the largest in the country, and our recycling rates will also be high!
